LoreMaps

Privacy & cookies

LoreMaps works without analytics cookies. Google Analytics loads in a limited, cookie-less measurement mode while you decide, and uses analytics cookies only if you accept.

Required storage

The cc_cookie cookie remembers your analytics choice for 182 days. The loremaps.units local-storage value remembers whether you prefer metric or imperial distances until you remove it. Neither value is sent to Google.

Optional Google Analytics

Before you make a choice, Google receives cookie-less measurement pings. They do not read or write Google Analytics cookies and are used by Google for consent-aware measurement.

If you accept analytics, Google Analytics sets first-party _ga and _ga_* cookies. Google documents a default lifetime of two years: the first distinguishes visitors and the second maintains session state.

After acceptance, analytics may receive:

LoreMaps does not send the raw text you type into search. Only the name of a place chosen from LoreMaps data can be measured. Advertising storage, Google Signals and advertising personalisation remain disabled.

Change your choice

Use Cookie settings in the site footer at any time. Withdrawing analytics consent stops LoreMaps analytics events, removes the Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page in cookie-less measurement mode.

A browser Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal overrides an analytics acceptance, so LoreMaps will not load Google Analytics on that device. Browser tracking protection or content blockers may also block Google Analytics requests.
